This edition is currently on back order. Will be available the 1st week of November. You can still place an order to reserve a copy, but it won't ship until Nov. 5th.
This is the '1884' edition of 'Pine Tar Baseball'. It contains 22 teams from the 1884 season. This includes all 8 teams from the NL, all 13 teams from the American Association, and the Saint Louis Maroons from the Union Association.
Roster sizes vary with most teams 15 to 17 players. In total, there are 44 player sheets, along with a brief 2 page history of the early world series. Each team has 2 player sheets with a maximum of 9 players per sheet. The stats are printed in full color with the pages uncut. It works well to place each teams 2 sheets into a single sheet protector with the text facing outside for both pages. Sheet protectors are not included.
Please note that the instructions for any version of Pine Tar will be the same, so if you already own a previous edition of the boxed game, you don't need to purchase a different version of the game to play 1884. You can just purchase the player set for the 1884 season. Any special instructions for a particular year will be included with the player set.
'Pine Tar' is a baseball game that was created based on feedback from a survey I did on players of the table top genre. It has a concise 11 page rule book with 5 more pages of optional rules. Pine Tar can be learned in one sitting and average 9 inning games take 30 minutes. The first few games played typically take 30 minutes while learning the rules. The table below gives an overview of Pine Tars features.
A new 4 page PDF supplement is available for download. Included are the new SO/Walk pitcher ratings for 1884.

The game is for 1 to 2 players and is highly suitable for solitaire play. Every game asset is printed in full color.
This game features base stealing, squeeze plays, and maximum innings pitched. In addition to pitcher home/away splits, there are also splits for when a pitcher faces the batting order for the 3rd time.
Note: 1884 teams do not have batter or pitcher splits due to those stats not being tracked back then.
