Eleven Classic Negro League Teams on Cards

$ 64.99 was $ 73.99

Kurt Bergland and myself are pleased to introduce the  Negro Leagues Great Teams Set for the Pine Tar Baseball game. This set features the  best teams (subjective of course) from the Negro League.

You can download Kurt Bergland's Negro League guide here:  https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0604/3873/files/Negro_Leagues_Guide.pdf?v=1590332389 It has the full rosters for all the teams.

Roster sizes vary as they actually did back then. The average roster size is 16.5 per team.

1910 Chicago Lelands

Ranked #9 All Time by Jim Riley, Former President, Society for American Baseball Research and Former Director of Research for the Negro Leagues Museum in Kansas City.

Ranked #6 by Dick Clark, Former Co-Chairman, SABR’s Negro League Committee and Co-Editor of The Negro Leagues Book, Volume I

1st Place in the Western Independent Clubs

Manager: Rube Foster

Roster (14):

Frank Wickware Duncan, Charles Dougherty Hill, Rube Foster Lloyd, Bill Lindsay Johnson, Bruce Petway Payne, Pete Booker Booker, Grant Johnson Pryor, Wesley Pryor  Petway, John Henry Lloyd. Frank Duncan, Pete Hill, Andrew Payne, Sam Strothers, and Fred Hutchinson

Why they will win your league/tournament: Wickware and Dougherty dominate their starts, and a thin staff figures out how to keep the team in games while this speedy offense drives defenses crazy.

Why they won’t win your league/tournament: Wickware and Dougherty prove to be mortal, and the third spot in the rotation gets hammered.

Other teams include the 1917 Chicago American Giants, the 1924 Kansas City Monarchs, the 1925 Hilldale Club, the 1928 St. Louis Stars, the 1929 Baltimore Black Sox, the 1933 Chicago American Giants, the 1935 Pittsburgh Crawfords, the 1942 Kansas City Monarchs, the 1946 Newark Eagles, and the 1947 NY Cubans. The 1931 Homestead Grays are also included in the set.
